Description
MPR’s bone grafters provide a simple and effective method of harvesting a cancellous bone graft and delivering that graft to the acceptor site. The bone grafter’s design allows access to the donor site through a small incision and cortical bone drill hole. Incremental markings on the bone grafters are 1 cm apart to assist in determining the depth of the acceptor site. With the plunger fully inserted, the bone grafters may be used as impactors after placing the grafts. Minimal incision, minimal morbidity, exact sizing, and placement make the bone grafter instruments advantageous. They can be used in both open and arthroscopic orthopedic procedures including long bone osteotomies, osteochondritis dissecans, nonunion fractures, and revisions.
The side loading bone grafter offers a different surgical option. This grafter with obturator is placed at the acceptor site. The obturator passes more easily than a blunt plunger through soft tissue or into the joint capsule. The side-opening feature allows the grafter to remain in place while the graft is loaded from the 4mm bone grafter into the side opening. The plunger replaces the obturator in the side loading bone grafter and pushes the graft fragments to the acceptor site.
